a rose sits on my desk
all alone
it basks in the light
for no one
its radiance reaches out
in an empty room
its petals will fall
from a beautiful bloom
its scent is heavenly
though no one knows
the pleasantness
spreads and grows
it wishes to find
unique beauty
a soulmate
to share its duty
